How to Apply Our Floor Stickers

  1. Get your shit together:
  • Floor sticker
  • Cleaning supplies (broom, mop, cleaning solution)
  • Measuring tape or ruler
  • Masking tape (optional)
  • Squeegee or a flat, smooth object (like a credit card)
  1. Prepare the Surface:
  • Ensure the floor surface is clean, dry, and free of dust, dirt, and grease. Sweep and mop the area thoroughly.
  • Allow the floor to dry completely before applying the sticker.
  1. Plan Your Placement:
  • Measure and mark the desired location for the sticker. Use masking tape to outline the area if necessary.
  • Carefully position the sticker to ensure it is straight and centered.
  1. Apply the Sticker:
  • Peel off a small section of the backing paper from one edge of the sticker.
  • Align the exposed edge of the sticker with your placement marks.
  • Slowly and steadily press down on the exposed edge while peeling off the backing paper, using the squeegee or a flat object to smooth out the sticker and eliminate air bubbles.
  • Continue this process until the entire sticker is applied.
  1. Smooth Out Bubbles:
  • Use the squeegee or flat object to press firmly over the entire surface of the sticker, working from the center outward to remove any remaining air bubbles.
  1. Secure the Edges:
  • Ensure the edges of the sticker are firmly adhered to the floor to prevent peeling.

Factors Affecting the Lifespan of Floor Stickers

  1. Foot Traffic:
  • Areas with heavy foot traffic, such as entrances, hallways, and common areas, will cause floor stickers to wear out more quickly. In high-traffic zones, the stickers may need to be replaced more frequently. LIFE EXPECTANCY can be from months to some years depending on usage and customer requirements
  1. Cleaning Frequency:
  • Frequent cleaning, especially with harsh chemicals or abrasive tools, can degrade the adhesive and surface of the stickers. Use gentle cleaning methods to extend their life.
  1. Environmental Conditions:
  • Exposure to moisture, sunlight, and temperature fluctuations can affect the durability of the stickers. In outdoor or damp indoor areas, the stickers may have a shorter lifespan.
  1. Surface Texture:
  • Stickers applied to smooth, non-porous surfaces will generally last longer than those applied to rough or textured surfaces. Ensure the application surface is as smooth as possible for best results.
  1. Usage Type:
  • Stickers used for directional purposes, safety markers, or decorative elements may experience different wear rates based on their function and location. For example, safety markers in industrial settings might wear out faster than decorative stickers in a retail environment.
  1. Life Expectancy
  • The life of the floor sign will depend on many factors – foot traffic – vehicular traffic – turning on sign will damage the sign. From our experience floor signs can last from months to years, it really depends on use, so unfortunately there is no warranty as there are so many factors that will affect the life of the floor sign significantly.
